Carolina Jessamine- What the nursery doesn't tell you...

This is a Carolina Jessamine vine. If you happen to live in South Carolina, this would be the answer to the trivial question, "What is your state flower?" If you have a child, the question instead is, "Do you know one petal of Carolina Jessamine is lethal?" Yep...go run and google it. Believe me, it's a shock! Garden centers all over the country sell this fragrant vine in early spring. It's real pretty and has a great fragrance. I decided our son was more valuable and ripped our jessamine out. I suggest, if you have a toddler or a pet, that you do the same.
Don't worry, there's many more non-toxic fragrant vines to choose from. This is all part of my book...Flower Child, The Art of Creating a Child Friendly Garden...

The beginning of a journey...

Well,
Here I am! On my way to a blog.
I never thought I'd be the proud owner of a blog. In fact, I'm really not crazy about the word "blog" in general. But, alas- here I am.
I am in the process of pitching my non-fiction book to publishers, with high hopes someone out there sees both the need and the purpose my book identifies.
Proud mother, loyal wife, evolving gardener, and now- a blog host.
Stay awhile, let's chat!
